In modern city life, the quality of air in the indoor environment – Indoor Air Quality (IAQ) - has a significant impact on human health and comfort. After all, people spend most of their time at homes, offices and other indoor environment. Poor IAQ can lead to discomfort, ill health (e.g. headache, itchy eyes, respiratory difficulties, skin irritation, nausea and fatigue), and in workplace, absenteeism and lower productivity. Children, elderly and those with existing respiratory or heart disease are more susceptible to the effects of poor IAQ. Good IAQ is important to safeguarding the health of the building occupants and contributes to their comfort and well-being.
